At Yagi Noodles, ramen isn’t just food, it’s the way our family connects, celebrates, and builds a life together. What started as Chef Basil experimenting with a noodle night has become our family’s full-hearted business, shaped by late-night test batches, toddlers running through the dining room before service, and the shared dream of creating something special for our community.

We’re not traditional and we like it that way. Basil’s cooking blends American creativity with the comforting flavors of his Chinese heritage and traditional Japanese techniques. Every bowl is grounded in handmade, seasonal, fresh, and local ingredients. All of our noodles are made from freshly milled local wheat because we believe you can taste the difference when food is made with patience and intention.

Basil has cooked in restaurants his whole life, starting in his parents’ place in Manchester, New Hampshire. Today, we bring that same family-run spirit to Yagi, infusing the menu with art, pop culture, and the playful energy that makes this restaurant feel uniquely “us.”

Behind the scenes, Kodi keeps the Yagi heart beating, juggling marketing, menu design, events, and the joyful chaos that comes with building a business as a young family. Our two children have grown up in this restaurant, taste-testing noodles and boba, and reminding us why creating a warm, welcoming space matters so much.

Yagi Noodles is more than a restaurant. It’s our family’s table, open to anyone who wants to eat well and feel at home. Located in Newport’s Long Wharf Mall, our space reflects everything we love: handmade touches, friendly service, delicious food, and artwork from local creatives who inspire us daily.
